Every place leaves a mark, even long after you've moved on.
Places began with the cities I've lived in and loved — their colour, culture, pattern, rhythm. Each work is named for the city that inspired it. The paintings are more literal, more tied to location, and yet, looking across the collection, the similarities emerge. The urban fabric of one city echoing another.
Collage-led in process, layered in texture. Different places, shared humanity.

Where are you from?
I never quite know how to answer that. Amman. Palestine. Toronto. Bahrain. New York. Dubai. Each one shaped how I see, how I design, how I paint.
Unmapped is not about one place, but the spaces in between. Memory, movement, and the quiet search for belonging when the map keeps changing. The raw inspiration comes from a mixture of sources including cartography, collaged maps, photographs taken across urban landscapes that move me. Less tied to a specific city. More about what lives between them.
The technique has loosened. Charcoal and pastels over acrylic. New brushes, new edges. An exercise in letting go as much as holding on. I see and dream in shapes, or vignettes.

I take on a small number of commissions each year. Site-specific works for private homes, curated for the space and the person who lives in it.
